One Thing I Do Every Day To Feel Successful

When I went back to work after maternity leave (to a new role nonetheless) I was finding it hard to “quantify” my progress. As someone who’s Type A and obsessed with getting better, the steep learning curve of my new roles (as a working mom and in a new company) left me feeling overwhelmed and truthfully questioning whether I was doing anything right.

After speaking with a few different people about what I was going through, someone suggested that I write down three things that I could deem a “success” at the end of the day. This small practice completely shifted my mindset from a day spent to a day well-spent. I have a reminder in my calendar for 4:45PM everyday and when it goes off, I reflect on three things that I did well/am grateful for. Sometimes I even include something I’m looking forward to that evening.

Have you ever gone through something similar? What are your reflection practices?
