My Guide to Maui

I wanted to freshen up my Maui list since so many of you have been asking. This is definitely geared towards the Wailea side of the island since that is where we always stay, but I have included a few spots outside of that area as well.

Stay:

  • The Four Seasons and Andaz in Wailea are my favorite hotels. We haven’t stayed at Andaz but plan to at some point. We’ve spent a lot of time there though!

  • Elua is our favorite condo complex right on the water in between Andaz and Wailea Beach Resort

  • Wailea Beach Villas for a high end condo experience

Eat:

  • Coconuts for fish and pork tacos. Don’t forget the coconut shrimp!

  • Paia fish tacos

  • Ka’ana kitchen for a romantic dinner

  • Ferrari’s and Spago for a splurge meal (book at sunset and don’t bring the kids)

  • Duo at the Four Seasons for brunch and the best pancakes of your LIFE!!!!!

  • The Grand Wailea lobby bar for a “big hotel” experience

  • Bumbye Beach Bar & Lehua Lounge at the Andaz for a Mai Tai and snack

  • Lunch at Mama’s Fish House

  • Oat Milk Latte at Honolulu Coffee Co

  • Happy hour at Tommy Bahama’s

  • Fred’s for a beach view kitschy taco vibe with great margs

  • Hawaiian Moons for healthy groceries and supplements

  • Island Gourmet or Foodland for the poke and papayas

  • The Mill House is absolutely stunning - great spot for lunch and lots of fun stuff for the kids

  • Birdcage Bar in Hotel Wailea for artisanal cocktails and small plates. Don’t bring the kids.

Do:

  • Sunrise/sunset at Secret Cove in Makena

  • Snorkel/chill at Ulua Beach

  • Rent a surfboard in Kihei or take a lesson

  • Paia for a day of shopping - my fave is Nuage Bleu

  • Shop at Cabana at the Four Seasons

  • Shop at Shops of Wailea (the sunglass hut and Imrie are my faves and the Lululemon is great too). Don’t sleep on the Bottega/Prada/Gucci/LV window shopping either ;)

  • Big Beach for the white sand and tropical water experience

  • Golf (Peter made me add this lol) - Emerald and Gold at Wailea

  • Watch the surfers at Jaws

  • Road to Hana - it’s a long day but a must once in your life. Do as many stops as possible.

  • Hire a babysitter from The Nanny Connection lol

Still yet to experience but on our list:

  • Star Noodle

  • Lanai for the day

  • Haleakala sunrise

  • Morimoto’s

  • Luau!! Waiting till the kids get a bit older

  • Monkeypod (I keep hearing about the mai tais and the desserts)
