My Ideal Monday Night
I remember when I first started getting into wellness but I was still living my “before” life. Going out on the weekends, eating foods quite often that didn’t make me feel good, drinking a little too much wine, not prioritizing sleep etc etc you get it. I started to find that on Mondays I didn’t feel that great. I was always in need of a serious detox/reset and so I started to make my Mondays sacred to how I started my week.
I would run a super hot bath, exfoliate (this is my favorite body exfoliator), read a book (some of my faves here) and turn off my phone early. I would wake up on Tuesday morning feeling like a new person. While I’ve come a long way since then, one thing remains the same and that is my commitment to zero plans other than me myself and I, and maybe Eckhart Tolle ;)
Here is my ideal routine:
7PM: Kids in bed (lights out around the house)
715PM: Light a candle in the bathroom and run the bath super hot (I love to get a really good sweat on to detox). I also love having a Spearmint, Ginger or Rooibos tea (linked all here)
Dry brush - I use this one (as well as the oil after the bath)
Add epsom salts (you do this right before you get in for the maximum benefit)
Turn my phone off (sometimes I’ll put my headphones in and listen to jazz or classical music or even a guided meditation)
Get in the bath
Exfoliate in the bath
Do my skincare routine while in the bath (the ultimate luxury) - I am loving everything OSEA right now and always (especially Ocean Eyes, their Hyaluronic Sea Serum and their Advanced Protection Cream) - you can also use my code directly on their website: SOPHIEC10
745PM: Sometimes I’ll finish with a cold shower to boost my immunity but usually I like a cold shower in the morning because it boosts my energy and at this point I want to be sleepyyyyy.
8PM: Take my evening supplements - Magnesium, RelaxMax (I get this from my naturopath Dr. Bobby Parmar at Mint Integrative) and Zinc for extra immunity - linked here.
815PM: Crawl into bed and read for as long as it takes me to fall asleep. Usually after this type of evening I’m out pretty quickly. In terms of what I read at night - usually fiction or memoir. I find non-fiction too stimulating and as someone who has struggled with insomnia, it’s not the vibe for me. I am LOVING this memoir right now by one of my favorite non-fiction writers.
And that’s it! Super simple but a great reminder that taking time to take care of yourself for an hour can really make a massive difference in how you show up for yourself, your family, your loved ones and even your work the next day.
Happy Monday! xx
