Wellness Routine Lately

As I’ve been alluding to on IG and in my newsletter, September is really all about the reset for me. I look at it as a second chance in the year to re-evaluate my goals and really consider what I want to focus on for the remainder of the year. It’s also a time for me to come back to all of the things that make me feel my best - cooking healthy foods, going to bed early and reading a book, waking up early to meditate, etc. I thought I’d outline all of the things that are filling my wellness cup lately.

Workouts

The last few weeks have been the first time since having kids and the pandemic that I’ve really gotten out to workout classes in person again. It’s given me a huge pep in my step and has encouraged me to level up my at home workouts as well. Right now, I’m loving personal training weekly at Yard (you can use my code Sophie15) and then I usually do one other class out of the house. I’ve been doing anything from Barry’s to Meta at Turf and also plan to sneak in a few Lagree classes here and there soon as well.

At home, I’ve been sticking with my tried and true MWH (I’ve been doing her workouts for about five years). I also have been incorporating some Peloton bootcamps and rides, alongside some strength training using my trainer’s online program.

Strength training has been a huge shift for me. I feel more motivated, energetic, and ultimately STRONGER. I will definitely be keeping up with this long term. Not to mention, it has been shown to help with living healthy longer (according to Dr. Peter Attia + more).

I’ve also been loving going to Project Skin for Emsculpt as a little extra bonus for my core. It doesn’t replace a workout routine but I find it to be a nice little add-on, especially as building my core post c-section has been really hard (my code is Sophie15 for that as well).

Nourishment

Usually when I’m trying to feel my best from a wellness perspective, I stick to the principles outlined in my RESET. I limit gluten, dairy, sugar and alcohol in order to cut down on inflammation and feel really sharp and fresh. I’ve decided to cut out alcohol during the week in September and so far have noticed a huge difference in bloating and my skin. For my smoothies, I use the recipes in my reset and for the nut milk, I finally took the plunge with the Almond Cow and I could not be happier. I’m actually saving money after just several weeks considering what I was spending on storebought nut milk. I have nut milk recipes in my reset as well.

For supplements, I’m loving AG1 (you can use this link to get a one year supply of Vitamin D3+K2 & 5 free travel packs of AG1 ) and Bend Beauty Renew and Protect (my code is SOPHIE20) . I also love Arrae (code is SOPHIE15) Calm for helping me fall asleep at night, Bloat for when I do decide to indulge (usually Friday night - Sunday) and Sleep for when my insomnia rears it’s head (usually once a week). These are products I genuinely love and would share whether or not I had codes!

Routines

My morning routine is sacred to me. On the days that I workout at home, my alarm is set for 5AM and I try to never snooze it. I do an at home workout and then dry brush (code is SOPHIEC10 - best dry brush) before meditating in the sauna. I have found the sauna to be a major shift in my routine in terms of immunity and skin health. I saved up for a long time and I know it’s an investment in my future as well. After that, I shower using MIFA body wash (code is SOPHIE15), and if I’m washing my hair, I follow this routine here. Once I’m in my robe (sneaky code is SOPHIEC10), I do my skincare routine and try to either read non-fiction (fave books here), journal or chat with my husband about our upcoming days and weeks while I have my collagen coffee.

For my PM routine, once my kids go to bed, the lights are off in the house, and I either burn one of our cozy candles or diffuse lavender (sophieccollins10 is my code). Then I usually watch a show with my husband or read fiction before falling asleep before 9PM.

Gear

I always find a couple new pieces of activewear to be a motivating factor for me. I just picked up this super comfy sports bra to pair with these fun and sporty leggings. I also grabbed this sports bra tank to go with these cute leggings. These are my go-to sneaker, but I also love these. For a more casual look and daily walks, I grabbed some sambas (all sizes available here). Lastly, my Stanley water bottle really helps me drink 2-3L of water per day. All of my favorite health products are linked here.

Happy Monday! 💪
